OLAOYE Benjamin Bibitayo is the President, Unique Unilag Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited. He is a member of the Society’s Board of Trustees and also Heads the Management Committee of the Society.
Prior to becoming the President, he was a member of the Society’s Credit Committee (2000-2002). He was elected Chairman, Supervisory Committee (2004-2006); elected as Treasurer (2006-2010); appointed as Ex-Officio (2010-2014); before being elected as President (2014-2016). He was returned unopposed as the President at the 2016 Annual General Meeting of the Society for another term of two years.
Mr Olaoye works at the Internal Audit Unit, Vice Chancellor’s Office, University of Lagos, with interest in System Audit/Investigation.
Before joining the service of the University, Olaoye has worked at various top-class corporate organisations, including Union Bank of Nigeria Plc.
Olaoye attended The Polytechnic, Ibadan, for both his National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy. He also holds series of Certificates in Auditing amongst which is the Certificate in “Audit Readiness in Public Sector Institutions”, by the Auditor’s Academy, Abuja.
In addition, he also attended Executive/Leadership Programmes organised by the National Centre for Technology Management, Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, where he was trained on “IT-Based Forensic Accounting, Fraud Detection and Prevention”. He has also attended and participated at series of workshops, seminars and conferences on Cooperative Management. Notably amongst them include the Cooperative Leaders Workshop on “Cooperative Legal Framework, Synergy and Business Analysis” held in Lagos.
Over the course of his sterling career, Olaoye has garnered diverse expertise in Auditing, Treasury and Financial Management, Accounting and Internal Controls, and Corporate Governance. Others include Corporate Finance, Financial Advisory and Compliance, and Corporate Strategy Development and Implementation, particularly in Cooperative Management.
Olaoye is happily married with children and lives with his family in Lagos.
